A new species of Nassarius (Gastropoda, Nassariidae) from Canopus Bank, off Northeast Brazil Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Abbate,Daniel; Cavallari,Daniel Caracanhas.
Nassarius levis sp. nov. is described from Canopus Bank, off Ceará, Northeast Brazil, based on shell morphology. It differs from other Brazilian species of the genus in having a more elongate shell, with a weakly developed parietal shield and a notably smooth surface. This last trait has not yet been described among the Western Atlantic Nassarius, but it is common to other congeners from the Eastern Atlantic, such as Nassarius elatus (Gould, 1845) and the Indo-Pacific, such as Nassarius excellens (Kuroda & Habe, 1961).

A new species of Neotropical freshwater stingray of the genus Potamotrygon Garman, 1877 from the Río Madrede Díos, Peru (Chondrichthyes: Potamotrygonidae) Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Silva,João Paulo C.B. da; Carvalho,Marcelo R. de.
Potamotrygon tatianae sp. nov., is described from Río Madre de Díos, Peru, upper Rio Madeira basin. The new species is distinguished from all congeners by a unique combination of characters, including its dorsal color pattern formed by a relatively slender, highly convoluted, beige to dark brown vermicular pattern, a single row of dorsal tail spines, and a relatively longer tail posterior to caudal stings. Potamotrygon tatianae sp. nov., occurs sympatrically with other species of Potamotrygon (P. falkneri, P. orbignyi and P. motoro). From the similar species P. falkneri, P. tatianae sp. nov., is further distinguished by the absence of circular, reniform, and oval spots, by its proportionally much longer tail, by having dorsal tail spines in one irregular...

A new species of Oiovelia from Colombia, with notes for other three species of South American Veliinae (Heteroptera: Gerromorpha: Veliidae) Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Rodrigues,Higor D.D.; Arango,Luisa Fernanda Álvarez.
Abstract The new species Oiovelia shepardi is described based on macropterous specimens from the departments of La Guajira and Antioquia in northwestern Colombia, and is compared to its presumed closest relative. The female of Paravelia cunhai Rodrigues & Moreira, 2016 and the male of P.polhemusi Rodrigues, Moreira, Nieser, Chen & Melo, 2014 are described for the first time. The specimens of the two species of Paravelia Breddin were collected in waters inside caves in the State of Pará, northern Brazil. Further, the micropterous form of Steinovelia vinnula (Drake, 1951) is described, compared with S.virgata (White, 1879), and new distributional records are provided. Illustrations and a geographic distribution map of all species treated here are...

A new species of Ophryotrocha (Annelida: Dorvilleidae) associated with the coral Lophelia pertusa (Anthozoa: Caryophylliidae) Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Miranda,Vinicius da Rocha; Rodrigues,Andrielle Raposo; Brasil,Ana Claudia dos Santos.
Abstract Ophryotrocha is the most speciose genus within Dorvilleidae, with species occurring in a great variety of environments around the globe. In Brazil, records of Ophryotrocha are scarce and no specific identification is provided for any of the records. Herein we describe a new species of Dorvilleidae, Ophryotrocha zitae sp. nov. Adult and larval specimens were found in the axis of a fragment of the cold-water coral Lophelia pertusa, sampled off São Paulo’s coast, at a depth of 245 m. Both forms are described and illustrated. This new species resembles O. puerilis, O. adherens and O. eutrophila, but can be distinguished based on differences in its mandible and on chaetae shape and arrangement.

A new species of Suturoglypta from Colombia (Caenogastropoda, Columbellidae) Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Simone,Luiz Ricardo L.; Gracia C.,Adriana.
Suturoglypta procera, a new species of Columbellidae, is conchologically described for the Caribbean coast of Colombia. The generic attribution is mainly based on the presence of teeth at outer lip, the long siphon and the deep suture. The new species differs from the other congeners in being elongated, almost turriform, in lacking shell pigmentation, and by poorer sculpture. A syntype of the Caribbean Astyris verrilli Dall is also figured.

Crenilabium birmani, a new species of acteonid is conchologically described from the southwestern and southern coast of Brazil. The new species is the fist record of the genus for the South Western Atlantic and differ in details and proportions of the suture and aperture. Two variants of the suture were detected, some specimens have simple suture, while others possess a deep, scaled suture. Information about a possible specimen of Crenilabium figured by Abbott (1974) representing Rictaxis punctocaelatus is here discussed, and its holotype if figured.

Tavares,Marcos; Melo,Gustavo Augusto S. de.
A new species of Trichopeltarion A. Milne-Edwards, 1880, is described from off coast of Brazil, namely Trichopeltarion pezzutoi n. sp. The new species is compared to its Atlantic congeners, Trichopeltarion nobile A. Milne-Edwards, 1880, and Trichopeltarion intesi (Crosnier, 1981). The record of T. nobile from Brazil should actually be attributed to T. pezzutoi n. sp. The differences between the genera Trichopeltarion and Peltarion Jacquinot, 1847 are discussed.

The Brazilian state of the type locality of Dufauxia guaicurana Lane, 1955 is fixed. Pirangoclytus mendosus (Galileo & Martins, 1996) is synonymized with P. mniszechii (Chevrolat, 1862), and its holotype is a female. Variation on Trypanidius maculatus Monné & Delfino, 1980 is commented. New country and department records for Paraguay are also provided.
